About NeuroSurg-Predict
Transparent, evidence-informed tools for understanding neurosurgical risk.
Our Experience
NeuroSurg-Predict brings together clinical experience in neurosurgery and research in surgical outcomes and predictive modelling.
Our work draws on the expertise of Professor Alfredo Conti, Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Bologna and neurosurgeon at Bellaria Hospital, part of the IRCCS Istituto delle Scienze Neurologiche di Bologna. His clinical and academic experience spans neuro-oncology, functional neurosurgery and stereotactic radiosurgery. Academic profile (opens in a new tab)
Through collaboration with neurosurgeons and researchers across centres, we study the factors associated with surgical outcomes and translate these findings into accessible prediction tools.
Our Mission
Our mission is to make neurosurgical risk prediction accessible, understandable and open to scientific scrutiny.
We translate clinical research into disease-specific calculators that help healthcare professionals and researchers explore surgical risks. Our broader aim is to improve how risks and uncertainty are understood and discussed by patients and their healthcare teams.
The calculators use statistical and machine-learning models developed from clinical datasets. Each tool is accompanied by information about its underlying study, validation, intended population and limitations. We aim to strengthen this evidence through independent validation and international collaboration.
For Research and Educational Use
NeuroSurg-Predict calculators are intended for research and education. They estimate probabilities from historical clinical data and cannot determine the outcome for an individual patient.
They do not provide medical advice, diagnoses or treatment recommendations, and are not intended for the selection of treatment.
